Spotlight on Designer: Monique Lhuillier

One of the standouts at New York Fashion Week in our humble opinion, Monique Lhuillier continues to deliver knockout shows season after season. Renowned for her innovative design and exquisite detailing, Lhuillier showcased a mix of red-carpet ready looks, from edgy leather cocktail dresses to embellished gowns. We particularly loved the digital prints which hinted at a tropical escape along the Mediterranean Sea. We can’t wait to see what she does next!

c&m by camilla and marc

can’t get enough of the latest offerings by camilla and marc for their diffusion line c&m. a more youthful and relaxed approach to dressing than their chief label – the graphic prints, flowing silohuettes and school girl styling spark thoughts of summer time picnis and friday night football games.  love the pop of neon leopard too.

note to self: must buy baseball cap this spring.

rare finds

“I think that as the world becomes more and more impersonal and clothing and objects become increasingly mass produced, there is a longing for the rare and exceptional.”

can’t believe last year’s ANTM winner Montana Cox just walked in Chanel’s A/W show at PFW alongside runway royalty Lindsay Wixson, Arizona Muse, Anja Rubik and Miranda Kerr! certainly one to watch this year…

masquerade

absolutely inspired by the alexander wang fall show presented at new york fashion week yesterday.

with a vision to open 14 stores in China over the course of the next year, I certainly picked up a strong asian influence (think: militant, sculpted silhouettes with a futuristic edge) throughout the looks. difficult to ignore were the fishnet turtleneck/masks featured on the runway, a powerful motif evoking an androgynous and mysterious mood. love the new direction of this collection – same wang, just a little more grown up.
