dress up

at the end of last month, I put my skills with a glue gun to good use to create a dress made entirely from the pages of magazines as part of my intern duties for online boutique, frockshop. the dress was displayed in frockshop’s flagship store to celebrate UP LATE WITH MARIE CLAIRE – an event which bought brisbane’s best dressed to local style hub, james street for a night of fashion, food and flirtinis. we even scored a tweet from editor of marie claire magazine, jackie frank complimenting the shop window…which certainly made all those paper cuts worth it.

case closed

I’m currently trawling net-a-porter and shopbop to find a laptop case to house my shiny new macbook pro. I love the way designers such as marc jacobs, michael kors and diane von furstenberg can transform the seemingly mundane accessory into a hip, lust-have item which mimic the oversized clutches saturating street style press at the moment. decisions, decisions…

my new mister

have hardly taken off the mister ray choker since the lovely girls from harper and harley x molten store sent this amazing piece my way! I’d been eyeing off the super cool choker for months and couldn’t believe my luck when I heard I was the winner of the online boutique’s giveaway.

the minimalist design makes it the perfect accessory to add a touch of quintessential molten store edge to your everyday look. mister ray can be your new friend too – available online here.

sylvana ward durrett

special events director at US vogue, sylvanna ward durrett is my latest girl crush and new found source of outfit inspiration. beginning her career at the fashion bible as assistant to anna wintour, she climbed the style ladder for eight years and now plans many of fashion’s most spectacular and highly coveted events – including the annual costume benefit at the metropolitan museum of arts.

I love how her office look perfectly balances feminine and masculine design aesthetics, while her party style is a little more playful.. not to mention her enviable collection of designer shoes and accessories. watch out ms durrett – I’m out to steal your wardrobe and your job.

leigh lezark

my latest trawling of street style blogs and harpers bazaar/style.com coverage of PFW has bought my attention to leigh lezark – model, DJ and all around cool girl. never far from the front row and a regular face at designer parties, this girl has earned her place among fashion’s elite.

in total envy of her effortless style. it’s high end, edgy and oh so chic.

nail it

had fun the other day playing with the opi shade ‘fit for a queensland’ – the perfect balance of matt and pearlised finish for a cool summer shade. decided to add a bit of interest and paint a single glitter nail on my ring finger – what do you think? crazy about my latest molten store purchase too.. the muse or myth ring available online here.

paddle pop

inspire thoughts of rainbow ice-creams running down your fingers on balmy summer days with the latest array of nail hues to hit the runways. my top picks for s/s are sunshine, lilac, orange and peppermint. when the weather starts to cool down (which could be sooner than expected with this unpredictable brisbane weather), utilitarian colours are definitely making their way into my collection: think bottle green, burgundy and rich navy.

had to post a little nail art inspiration too.. i don’t think we should ever take our nail choices too seriously.
